About The Fire Shop

The Fire Shop is owned by Dick and Lisa Harper. Lisa's father, George Hartmann, was a New York City Firefighter who retired from the firefighting profession and started a business in the Catskill region of New York while Lisa was in high school. George sold his business, The Fire Factory in Port Jervis, New York, at age of 71 and has moved to New Smyrna Beach, Florida. He was very instrumental in helping our business grow.

Having grown up with the business, when the opportunity arose, Lisa suggested starting a firematics business and The Fire Shop was born in Lown's House of Shoppes in Penn Yan, NY. Soon after, The Fire Shop expanded to offer a much wider line of fire, ems, and police supplies. So while we offer many gift, clothing and lighting products at our stores, we also have very competitive lines including equipment, supplies, uniforms, custom printed items, and much more.

With George's background in the profession and business for over 45 years and Dick's experience as a NYS EMT Instructor for over 20 years, The Fire Shop has a lot of experience to back it.

While the Lown's location supports a gift / walk in retail business, we gladly work with customers on equipment, supplies, and custom orders. Please feel free to give us a call.
